We’ve been designing and building bespoke ecommerce stores in all shapes and sizes for over 15 years. We wanted to understand the world of the retailer and so we launched our own online store back in 2005. We thought it would be easy as we were designing and building ecommerce sites at the time, but very quickly we saw the sites we were building from a totally new perspective. We began to understand the operational challenges e-retailers face daily. Development of Purveya began almost immediately, as we quickly discovered that the third party software we were using was not very ‘flexible’ when it came to running the business and it was difficult to expand the business without having to build a new ecommerce site.

We immediately knew our primary aims were to create an ecommerce platform that would fully support a growing business. Key areas were: scalable with the ability to add modules to the ‘core’ system when needed; be continually upgraded to keep pace with technology, without having to reinvest large amounts of money into a new site; produce financial and operational reports quickly and be absolutely appealing and user friendly to customers.

The first version of Purveya went live in 2010. Since then, we have continually redeveloped the platform and we now have what we believe is an ecommerce platform that can stand shoulder to shoulder with the market leaders.
